First time trying blackjack with a mate and it actually went alright
Last night my housemate pulled up a blackjack table on his laptop after dinner and asked if I wanted to throw a fiver in just for a laugh. I’d only ever watched it on telly before so I was rubbish at the start, kept hitting when I should’ve stayed, but somehow we both finished up a bit. Made me wonder if there’s a simple way to get the basics without spending ages studying charts. Do most people just pick it up as they go or is there a better starting point for someone who only plays once in a while?

Blackjack always looked more complicated than it actually is when you’re just watching someone else play. Once you sit down it turns into a pretty simple choice most of the time. Funny how many card games feel the same way once you stop overthinking them.
